No. Physiotherapists are primary contact practitioners, meaning you can book directly without a GP referral. If you're using Medicare's Chronic Disease Management plan, DVA, or workers' compensation, you will need a referral — your GP or case manager can organise this.
Bring any relevant imaging or specialist reports (scans, X-rays, ultrasound reports), your referral if you have one, your private health card if you're claiming on the spot, and comfortable clothing you can move in. For NDIS patients, please bring your NDIS plan and contact details for your plan manager.
Yes — we use Halaxy for online booking. You can book the next available appointment at either clinic via the Book Online button in our header, on our home page, or directly via the links on the contact page.
Most private health funds cover physiotherapy under their extras cover. We have HICAPS facilities so you can claim on the spot — you only pay the gap. Coverage varies by fund and policy level, so check with your insurer for specifics.
Yes. Aevum Physiotherapy is a registered NDIS provider serving the Sutherland Shire. We offer a free discovery session so you can come in, meet the team and see the facility before deciding. See our NDIS page for more.
Yes — our paediatric and NDIS therapists offer home visits depending on location and therapist availability. Please call to discuss.
Initial assessments run 45–60 minutes — long enough for a thorough history, physical examination and treatment plan. Follow-up appointments are typically 30–45 minutes depending on what we're working on.
This depends entirely on your condition and goals. After your initial assessment we'll give you a realistic estimate. Many conditions resolve in 4–6 sessions; complex or long-standing issues may take longer. We'll always discuss progress openly.
