Why 3D?

The detail you can't see with the eye.

Traditional bike fitting relies on visual assessment from one or two angles. 3D motion capture records your full pedalling pattern across all three planes simultaneously — capturing the asymmetries, compensations and angle changes that drive overuse injuries and lost watts.

The result is a fit grounded in measurable biomechanics, not estimates.

What we look at

A complete biomechanical assessment.

Your fit starts off the bike — we assess flexibility, leg-length symmetry, foot posture and any historical injuries. Then we move to the bike for the motion capture session, working through saddle height, fore-aft, cleat position, handlebar reach and drop.

We adjust, re-measure, and iterate until the data tells us we're optimal.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions.

What is a 3D bike fit?

A 3D bike fit uses motion-capture technology to measure your body position on the bike in three dimensions. Unlike a visual fit, it captures precise joint angles, asymmetries and pressure data to optimise your position for power, comfort and injury prevention.

How long does a bike fitting take?

A full 3D bike fitting at Aevum takes approximately 90 minutes. This includes an initial assessment, on-bike capture, adjustments and a detailed report with your optimal position data.

Should I bring my own bike?

Yes — bring the bike you ride most. We fit road bikes, triathlon and TT bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes and e-bikes. If you are purchasing a new bike, we can also advise on frame sizing before you buy.

How often should I get a bike fit?

We recommend a fit whenever you get a new bike, experience pain while riding, change your riding style significantly, or at least every 1–2 years as your body and flexibility change.
